Central Reserve Police Force formed an educational society in the year 1986. Looking into the nomadic life CRPF personnel live, are unable to pay sufficient attention towards the education of their wards. The Education Society decided to have its own school. The basic principle of the school was to provide quality education to the wards of CRPF who otherwise are unable to get admission into good schools and can not pay high fee which these schools charge.

A Committee constituted by the Educational Society conducted a survey and prepared a feasibility report to the Society which had following salient features:-

1. The benefits of the school should also go to the public at large situated/residing in and around the school
2. School should be co-educational in nature
3. School should be partial residential, to accommodate the students whose parents are serving in far flung areas of the country
4.Fee charged should be as per the rank of CRPF employees and there should be uniformed fee structure for Non-CRPF wards
5.The school should have NCERT curriculum and should be affiliated to C.B.S.E.

The Society purchased about 6.1/2 acres of land in sector –XIV Rohini adjacent to well known DDA Sports Complex and opposite to Prashant Vihar area.

On 2nd May 1988, with about 400 students and 15 teachers, the school was started upto class VII. Shri P G Halrankar, the then Director General CRPF inaugurated the school.

In year 1988, the school was recognised by the Directorate of Education, Delhi Administration. The Chairman,CBSE Dr. H.S. Singha inspected the school in 1990 and granted affiliation to CBSE. In 1992, the first batch of class X appeared for the Board Examination and all the students were passed with First Division. The school shifted to its present building in year 1992 with first batch of class XII.
